This computer data center consolidation project undertaken by Northrop Grumman involved constructing a 60,000 square foot primary computer center in Chesterfield, Virginia as part of its IT outsourcing contract with the Commonwealth of Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA).
Lee Technologies provided Northrop with all contractor management, logistics, systems integration, technical support, specification management, and systems engineering design support for all equipment and systems that comprised the mission-critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure for this Tier III, N+1 configured data center.
The infrastructure systems provided by Lee Technologies consisted of three (3) 2.25 megawatt Generators with enclosures and paralleling switchgear, six (6) 750 Kilo Volt Amp (kVA), uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and batteries, (18) Power Management Modules, Square D Switchgear, and HVAC Equipment. Due to Lee Technologies exemplary performance on this project, Northrop chose Lee Technologies to provide the same equipment and services for a second 20,000 square foot back-up computer data center in Lebanon, Virginia.
